Membership/Facilities
(a) The total membership varies around the 600 mark, including junior members. We consider applications for new members each year, usually between March and June, after existing members have renewed their annual membership. However, due to limited badminton courts (6), we have to cap our membership numbers at this level each year. We generally advise the Complete Beginners to learn more about the game of Badminton (some Coaching lessons…} before applying for membership.
(b) The Club sets Membership Entry Rules and Criteria from time to time in order to maintain our existing Members expectations and their rights. Please note that in so far as in deciding the outcome of your application for Membership, the DTBA Club’s decision is final.
(c) We provide daily social playing sessions for members from Monday to Sunday, usually at night. For details, please click here.
(d) We generally do use some Sessions for planned in-house competitions, on a as required basis. We do allow casual players (non-members), subject to their skill levels as in our membership Rules and Criteria, to try out our facility but only in sessions that may be less busy, e.g. second sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Please call 03 9840 2063 (during Session times) to enquire about other sessions where casual members can participate.
(e) All social sessions are managed by a supervisor who organizes the games. The Supervisor has the authority to disallow Casual and Non Members from playing in their Sessions, according to Club Rules… a Novice skills level Criteria is nominal.
Anyone wanting to know more about this aspect can call our supervisor when the social sessions are on to enquire further. PLEASE note that priority is always given to our Members first.
